    NCC/Scout & Guides

In Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), the Scouts & Guides and NCC (National Cadet Corps) programs are important co-curricular activities aimed at the overall development of students. Here’s a brief overview of both:

    Scouts & Guides in KVS

The Bharat Scouts & Guides is an integral part of KVS to instill discipline, community service, leadership, and outdoor survival skills in students.
Activities include camping, hiking, social service, skill-building workshops, and more.
Students can join as Cubs/Bulbuls at the primary level and as Scouts/Guides at the secondary level.
Various levels of proficiency and ranks are awarded, such as Pratham Sopan, Dwitiya Sopan, Tritiya Sopan, Rajya Puraskar, and Rashtrapati Award.
NCC (National Cadet Corps) in KVS

NCC is a youth development movement that aims to build leadership qualities, discipline, and a sense of patriotism among students.
Junior Division (JD) NCC is offered in Kendriya Vidyalayas for boys and girls from Class 8 onwards.
NCC activities include parade training, rifle shooting, obstacle courses, drills, social service, and adventure activities like trekking and mountaineering.
Students also participate in NCC camps, Republic Day parades, and national-level events.
It provides a platform for students to contribute to national integration and also opens opportunities for defense services.
Both programs play a crucial role in the character-building and physical development of students in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
